Stitch Birdies On Pumpkin, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — two little blue tits perch on a great ribbed orange pumpkin among its broad green leaves and curling tendrils.

A little stitcher's folklore: birds visiting the pumpkin patch were said to bless the harvest and promise a mild winter.

Why this kit: a bright autumn design after artwork by O. and A. Droznov, with 54 colours on Aida with a printed grid.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida with a printed counting grid (100% cotton), Luca-S 100% cotton threads in 54 colours, 2 needles, a partially coloured chart with coloured backstitch and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the blue tits, then the pumpkin's ribs and stalk, and finish with the leaves and tendrils using the partially coloured chart.

Finished size: 26×32 cm (10.2×12.6 in). A warm autumn picture for the kitchen and a lovely seasonal gift for bird lovers.
