Stitch Mills, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a tall blue Dutch windmill with lattice sails stands on a red wooden base above snowy ground, with a few birds in the pale sky. Worked in 23 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: windmill sails set in a cross were a sign of rest and good wishes to the village. Stitchers say this mill turns luck your way.

Why this kit: if you love windmills and Dutch style, this small design is quick and charming. A lovely gift for travellers and a set with RTO's other Mills kits.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 23 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the blue tower and the lattice sails, then the red base. Finish with the snow and sky.

Finished size: 9×13.5 cm (3.54×5.31 in). A small windmill picture to frame and a charming handmade gift.
