Stitch Kintai Bridge, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — the famous arched Kintai Bridge crosses the Nishiki River in Japan, framed by branches of pink cherry blossom, with the water glowing blue and lilac beneath. Worked in 23 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: in Japan, cherry blossom is a reminder to enjoy every beautiful moment, and walking under it with someone was said to keep you together. Stitchers say this bridge is best crossed in spring.

Why this kit: if you love Japanese scenes and cherry blossom, this small kit is quick, pretty and full of colour. A lovely gift for travellers and fans of Japan.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 23 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the pink blossom and dark branches, then the grey stone arches of the bridge. Finish with the blue and lilac river.

Finished size: 9×13.5 cm (3.54×5.31 in). A small Japanese spring picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.

    Such a beautiful pattern! It's very complex but between the symbols and color coding, the pattern is understandable. Also, the pattern comes printed out HUGE, which really helps. Always love my Wizardi kits!
