Stitch On the Streets of Paris, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a Paris street in soft grey tones with the Moulin Rouge windmill above the rooftops, vintage cars below and a rider in a red scarf zipping past on a bright red scooter. Worked in 12 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the sails of the Moulin Rouge were said to turn for every couple who fell in love in Paris that night. Stitchers say this rider is racing to meet someone.

Why this kit: if you love Paris and elegant grey-toned art, this small kit is quick and stylish, with a pop of red. A lovely gift for travellers, and a pair with RTO's Montmartre street.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 12 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red scooter and rider, then the darkest greys of the windmill and cars. Finish with the pale rooftops and sky.

Finished size: 15×15 cm (5.91×5.91 in). A stylish Paris picture to frame and a lovely gift for travellers.
