Stitch Summer Colours, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a cottage sits among golden wheat and bright red poppies, with a tall cypress, blue and orange trees and mountains under a summer sky. Bold, painterly colour on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppies in the wheat were a sign of a good harvest, and a cypress by the house was planted for long life. Stitchers say this cottage has a lucky summer ahead.

Why this kit: if you love bright country landscapes, this small scene is quick and cheerful. A lovely gift, and one of four Summer Colours designs that look great framed as a set.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in all the colours you need, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red poppies and the cypress, then the cottage and trees. Finish with the mountains and sky.

Finished size: 11×11 cm (4.33×4.33 in). A small, sunny landscape to frame and a cheerful handmade gift.
