Stitch Tea for the Fairy, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a tiny fairy in a yellow dress sits inside a big pink poppy, sipping tea from a little cup, with pale butterflies fluttering around her. Worked in 22 colours of DMC stranded cotton on light blue Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: leaving a thimble of tea in the garden was said to invite the fairies in, and they would bless the flowers in return. Stitchers say this fairy has found her cup.

Why this kit: if you love whimsical, fairy-tale designs, this tiny fairy in a poppy is sweet and quick to stitch, with the light blue fabric doing the sky. A lovely gift for girls and fairy lovers.

Kit includes: 14-count light blue Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 22 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the fairy and her yellow dress, then the pink poppy petals from dark to light. Finish with the green stem, leaves and butterflies.

Finished size: 16×17 cm (6.3×6.69 in). A whimsical little picture to frame and a sweet handmade gift.
