Stitch Warmth of the Heart, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a bright red heart with a little button is tied with thread to a snowy tree branch, among golden stars in a teal night sky. Worked in 19 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: tying a heart to a tree in winter was said to keep love warm until spring. Stitchers say this one keeps it warm for ever.

Why this kit: if you love simple, meaningful winter designs, this little red heart is quick and heart-warming to stitch. A lovely Christmas or Valentine's gift, and a set with RTO's Snow Tenderness, Charm of the Stars and Magic Snowflake.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 19 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red heart and its button, then the thread and snowy branch. Finish with the golden stars and the teal sky.

Finished size: 9×11 cm (3.54×4.33 in). A heart-warming little picture to frame and a quick handmade gift.
