Stitch When the Sun Goes Down, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — dark pine trees stand in silhouette against a red and golden sunset, reflected in a calm lake below. Worked in 23 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the last ray of sunset on a lake was said to carry away the day's worries. Stitchers say this lake takes them all.

Why this kit: if you love sunsets and forest silhouettes, this small scene is dramatic and quick to stitch. A lovely gift, and part of RTO's sunset mini series.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 23 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red and golden sky and its reflection, then the blue clouds. Finish with the dark pine silhouettes.

Finished size: 9×13 cm (3.54×5.12 in). A glowing little sunset picture to frame and a quick handmade gift.
