Stitch Revelation of Colour, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a bold, painterly horse in red and blue stands among red poppies and white daisies, like a vivid oil painting. Worked in 22 colours of DMC stranded cotton on ecru Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a horse painted in bright colours was said to carry luck and courage to its owner. Stitchers say this one gallops straight into happiness.

Why this kit: if you love expressive, colourful art, this painted horse is quick and striking to stitch. A lovely gift for horse lovers, and part of RTO's Revelation of Colour series.

Kit includes: 14-count ecru Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 22 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the horse's head and blue shading, then the red body. Finish with the poppies, daisies and the pale background.

Finished size: 9×13.5 cm (3.54×5.31 in). A vivid little picture to frame and a lovely gift for horse lovers.
