Checkerboard King with Jeweled Staff Christmas Wooden Nutcracker 15 in by Wizardi F07M14-36-N01845C

Crown your mantel with the Checkerboard King, a wooden Christmas nutcracker by Wizardi — a regal king in a white domed crown banded in gold and set with amber jewels, a red tunic with a bold black-white-and-gold checkerboard front and belt, gold epaulettes and a long white beard. He holds an ornate gold staff topped with a red jewel, with black boots set with coloured gems on a black-and-white striped base with a gold rim.

A little collector's folklore: in chess, the king is the piece the whole board protects, and collectors say a checkerboard king on the mantel is guarded by every other nutcracker in the room. Put him in the middle — the rest will gather round.

Why this nutcracker: if you love classic red with a modern graphic twist, the checkerboard panel and striped base make him one of the most striking kings in the collection. He suits black-and-white, red or traditional decor, and at 15 inches he is a true centrepiece.

In the box: one Checkerboard King nutcracker in painted wood with a white faux-fur beard and jewel accents, packed in a red gift box with a window. A decorative nutcracker, not intended for cracking nuts. Ready to display, no assembly needed.

Complete his court with the halberdier (F07M14-36-N01845A), the musketeer (F07M14-36-N01845B) and the drummer (F07M14-36-N01845D), or set him among red and black ornaments for a bold look. Dust with a soft, dry brush and keep away from moisture and heat. A decoration, not a toy.

Size: 38 cm tall (15 in). Classic Christmas mantel decor, and a regal gift for nutcracker collectors.
