Stitch Bright Day, a counted cross stitch cushion kit by RTO — a stone cottage with glowing windows sits on a snowy hill under falling snow, framed by frosty blue trees, seed heads and red berries. Worked in 27 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida, ready to make into a 40×40 cm cushion front.

A little stitcher's folklore: a lamp glowing in a snowy cottage window was said to welcome every traveller in from the cold. Stitchers say this cushion brings the same warmth to your sofa.

Why this kit: if you love cosy Scandinavian-style winter decor, this cushion front is stylish and a pleasure to stitch. A lovely Christmas gift, and it matches RTO's In a Winter Fairy Tale picture.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 27 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A cushion insert and backing fabric are not included.

Start with the cottage and glowing windows, then the blue trees and red berries. Finish with the snow, then sew it onto a cushion backing with an insert of your choice.

Finished size: 40×40 cm (15.75×15.75 in). A cosy winter cushion front and a treasured handmade gift.
