Stitch Lighthouse, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a red and white lighthouse rises behind a row of weathered wooden breakwater posts, set against a pale, sandy sky. Worked in 17 colours of DMC stranded cotton for a soft, sun-bleached seaside look.

A little stitcher's folklore: old harbour posts were said to hold the stories of every boat that tied up to them, and a lighthouse beside them promised that everyone would come home. Stitchers say this one keeps that promise.

Why this kit: if you love calm, understated coastal style, this little lighthouse is a quick and relaxing mini project. A lovely gift for seaside lovers and a natural set with the other RTO lighthouses.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 17 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the lighthouse, then build up the wooden posts with their browns and greys. Finish with the pale background around them.

Finished size: 5.5×10.5 cm (2.17×4.13 in). A small coastal picture for a shelf or a little frame, and a sweet handmade gift.
