Stitch Polemonium and Butterfly, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a brilliant blue morpho butterfly with outspread wings, beneath a sprig of soft purple polemonium (Jacob's ladder) flowers. Worked in 17 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a blue butterfly is said to bring joy and wishes come true. Stitchers say this one carries a wish for whoever receives it.

Why this kit: if you love butterflies and small botanical studies, this mini design is quick and elegant. A lovely gift and a set with RTO's Briar and Butterfly.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 17 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the black wing edges, then fill the bright blue. Finish with the purple flowers above.

Finished size: 8.5×9.5 cm (3.35×3.74 in). A small nature picture for a mini frame and a sweet handmade gift.
