Stitch Russula, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a pink russula mushroom with a golden-brown snail resting on its cap, with green grass and a shiny red berry at its foot. Worked in 21 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: finding a snail on a mushroom was said to mean slow and steady good luck coming your way. Stitchers say this one is taking its time to bring it.

Why this kit: if you love woodland details, this little mushroom is quick, sweet and great for beginners. A lovely small gift, and a pair with RTO's Girolle.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 21 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the snail's spiral shell, then the pink mushroom cap and stem. Finish with the grass and the red berry.

Finished size: 10.5×12 cm (4.13×4.72 in). A sweet little woodland picture to frame and a quick handmade gift.
