Stitch Cock with Butterfly, a tiny cross stitch kit by RTO — a cream and red rooster with a purple tail and a little green butterfly resting on its comb, finished in an ornate white mini frame that's included in the kit. Worked in 10 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 18-count ecru Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a butterfly landing on you is a sign of good news, and a rooster brings the morning — together they promise a bright day. Stitchers say this one wakes up lucky.

Why this kit: if you love whimsical kitchen decor, this tiny framed rooster is a quick, complete project. A sweet gift and a set with RTO's other framed hens and roosters.

Kit includes: 18-count ecru Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 10 colours, an ornate white mini frame, a needle, a chart and instructions.

Stitch the rooster's body and purple tail, then the red comb and green butterfly. Pop the finished piece into the white frame.

Finished size: 3×5 cm (1.18×1.97 in). A tiny framed kitchen keepsake and a charming handmade gift.
