Stitch Church, a tiny cross stitch kit by RTO — a sepia street leads to a domed church, with a hanging lamp and a man walking his little dog, finished in an ornate antique pewter-tone frame that's included in the kit. Just 5 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 18-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the sound of church bells was said to drive away storms and bad luck from the whole town. Stitchers say this little street is the peaceful end of every walk.

Why this kit: if you love vintage cityscapes, this tiny sepia picture is quick, complete and comes with an elegant frame. A lovely gift for travellers, and a pair with RTO's Old Town.

Kit includes: 18-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 5 colours, an antique pewter-tone mini frame, a needle, a chart and instructions.

Stitch the darkest browns of the figure, dog and doorways first, then the church dome and walls. Pop the finished piece into the pewter-tone frame.

Finished size: 4×7 cm (1.57×2.76 in). A tiny framed vintage keepsake and an elegant handmade gift.
