Stitch Pretty Bessie, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a fluffy grey tabby kitten with green eyes licks its lips while watching a little blue butterfly. Worked in 14 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a grey tabby was said to be the wisest of cats, and a cat watching a butterfly meant good news was coming. Stitchers say Bessie is waiting for it.

Why this kit: if you love kittens, this pretty tabby is quick, easy and full of charm. A sweet gift for cat owners and kids, and part of RTO's mini kitten series.

Kit includes: 14-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 14 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the green eyes and pink nose, then the grey stripes and white fur. Finish with the blue butterfly.

Finished size: 8×8 cm (3.15×3.15 in). A small kitten picture for a mini frame, and a sweet handmade gift.
