Stitch Pansy, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a cheerful cluster of blue, purple and yellow pansies with their dark velvety faces, an orange bud and green leaves. Worked in 13 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the pansy gets its name from the French "pensée" — a thought — and giving pansies meant "you are in my thoughts". Stitchers say this little bunch is a thought for someone special.

Why this kit: if you love bright garden flowers, these pansies are quick, cheerful and a great first kit. A sweet gift to say "thinking of you".

Kit includes: 14-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 13 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the dark centres of each pansy, then fill the petals in blue, purple and yellow. Finish with the bud and leaves.

Finished size: 10×10 cm (3.94×3.94 in). A small floral picture for a mini frame, and a thoughtful handmade gift.
