Stitch Rodent Bonn, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a tri-coloured brown, black and white guinea pig hugs a big green pear with its little paws. Worked in 15 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: pet lovers say a guinea pig that squeaks when it sees you has chosen you for life, and fruit in the paws is a sign of a sweet, lucky day. Stitchers say this one is guarding its pear for good reason.

Why this kit: if you love guinea pigs, this is a charming, quick mini project that's easy for beginners. A great gift for pet owners and kids' rooms, and a sweet pair with RTO's Larky Lucky.

Kit includes: 14-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 15 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes and dark outlines, then fill the brown, black and white fur. Finish with the green pear.

Finished size: 10×10 cm (3.94×3.94 in). A small pet portrait for a mini frame, and a fun handmade gift.
