Stitch Leveret, a mini counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a little brown baby hare sits up on its hind legs with its long ears raised, alert and curious. Worked in just 7 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the hare has long been a symbol of spring, luck and new life, and seeing a young hare in a field was once thought to promise a good harvest. Stitchers say this one brings a fresh start.

Why this kit: if you love hares or woodland animals, this simple design with only 7 colours is ideal for beginners and a relaxing quick stitch. A lovely gift for Easter, nurseries and nature lovers.

Kit includes: 14-count white Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 7 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eye and the outline of the ears, then fill the soft browns of the body. The small colour palette keeps it simple from start to finish.

Finished size: 9×11 cm (3.54×4.33 in). A small hare picture for a mini frame, and a sweet handmade gift.
