Otter in Flowers Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle by Wizardi F07N9-9

Piece together an otter in flowers, a wooden jigsaw puzzle by Wizardi: a round-faced otter with a little flower crown nestles among orange, pink, blue and purple blooms, painted in soft watercolour style.

A little puzzler's folklore: otters hold paws while they sleep so they never drift apart, a sweet thought to piece together.

Why this puzzle: if you love gentle watercolour art, the soft colours make a calm, relaxing build.

In the box: laser-cut wooden pieces printed with the picture, a mix of classic interlocking pieces and whimsy pieces cut as little animals and figures such as giraffes, butterflies and dragonflies, packed in a gift box with the full picture on the front for reference. The box rates it 5A Challenger. Not included: a puzzle board or frame.

How to build it: turn every piece picture-side up, pick out the straight edges and the whimsy figures first, then sort the rest by colour and build inwards, using the box picture as your guide; the wood pieces lock firmly, so a finished section can be moved without falling apart.

Finished size 29.5 x 29.5 cm (11.6 x 11.6 in), a square A3 picture, so it fits a coffee table while you work and a frame afterwards; a lovely gift for puzzle fans, animal and nature lovers and anyone who wants a calm, screen-free evening, and it goes back in the box to build again.
