A country-summer sampler full of little scenes: swallows over a farmhouse, a drying wreath, a patchwork quilt at a window, sunflowers on stacked books, a poppy field, a flower-filled cart wheel, a garden bench with a straw hat, an old water pump with a watering can, and a bicycle with a basket of flowers.

Why this kit: many separate vignettes, each telling its own small story, keep the stitching varied; 47 DMC colors plus Preciosa beads give the 38x38 cm piece rich, detailed shading; everything needed to finish is in the box, from pre-selected DMC floss to a digital copy of the chart.

Kit includes: 100% cotton 16 count Aida in white, 100% cotton DMC floss in 47 colors, Preciosa beads, a Pony needle, a black-and-white printed chart with the backstitch shown in color, and a digital copy of the pattern. Finished size: 38x38 cm (14.96x14.96 in). Made in Ukraine.

The design is stitched by counting from the chart: each symbol marks one cross stitch in a specific floss color, worked square by square across the Aida, with the backstitch details and Preciosa beads added last to sharpen the picture.

A longer project for stitchers with some experience, and a nostalgic countryside piece for a living room or kitchen.
