Stitch Poppy Colour, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a fairy with red butterfly wings and a flowing red dress dances over a meadow of red poppies and blue cornflowers, holding a bunch of cornflowers and a little bird, under a soft pink sky. Worked in 39 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: fairies were said to paint the poppies red each summer morning, and a meadow full of them meant the fairies were happy. Stitchers say this one has just finished her work.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 39 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the fairy's face, red dress and wings, then the poppies and cornflowers. Finish with the green stems and the pink sky.
