Stitch Sunset Cat, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a black cat with glowing eyes sits on a wooden fence post among wild grass silhouettes, against a blazing orange sunset sky. Worked in 20 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a black cat on the fence at sunset was said to be guarding the house for the night ahead. Stitchers say this one takes the job seriously.

Why this kit: if you love cats and dramatic colour, this silhouette design is striking and relaxing to stitch. A lovely gift for black cat owners, and a set with RTO's other sunset kits.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 20 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the orange sunset sky, blending from light to dark. Finish with the black cat, the fence post and the grass silhouettes.

Finished size: 15.5×15.5 cm (6.1×6.1 in). A striking cat picture to frame and a lovely gift for cat lovers.
