Stitch Sunset Romance, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — an ornate lamp post stands on a seaside promenade with a chequered pavement, where couples sit on benches watching the sun set over the water under glowing orange clouds. Worked in 30 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: couples who watched the sun set together by the sea were said to stay together for ever. Stitchers say this promenade has seen many happy endings.

Why this kit: if you love romantic seaside scenes, this sunset promenade is warm and atmospheric to stitch. A lovely anniversary gift, and a set with RTO's other sunset kits.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 30 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the lamp post and the couples, then the chequered pavement. Finish with the glowing clouds and the sea.

Finished size: 13.5×19 cm (5.31×7.48 in). A romantic sunset picture to frame and a lovely anniversary gift.
