Stitch Colour of the Sun, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — the sun sets behind blue and violet mountain peaks, with red, pink and golden clouds above and autumn trees on the green slopes. Worked in 40 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: mountain people said the peaks glow at sunset to thank the sun for the day. Stitchers say this sunset is the brightest thank-you of all.

Why this kit: if you love vivid landscapes, this mountain sunset is bold and a joy to stitch. A lovely gift, and part of RTO's Colour of the Sun series.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 40 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the sun and the glowing clouds, then the blue mountains. Finish with the autumn trees and the green slopes.

Finished size: 15.5×15.5 cm (6.1×6.1 in). A vivid sunset picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.

    This seller is great. The kit arrived promptly and in good condition. The design of the cross stitch is absolutely beautiful and the colors look much more impressive in person.\n\nStill, I can't recommend this pattern without a few words of caution. This is my first kit, so I don't know if this is standard or not, but the pattern is fully black and white with no colored version. It does not have the DMC numbers of the embroidery floss, so if you make too many mistakes you'll have to buy new floss and guess if you've gotten the right colors. Additionally, the pattern is set on a 101 by 101 grid, and the top row and column are 9 by 9, a detail I foolishly overlooked on my first attempt of the pattern, leading to me needing to scrap my work 12 hours in and restart on 14 count fabric.\nSo not a great beginner pattern, but it's pretty.
