Stitch Colour of the Sun, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a fiery orange and red sunset blazes above a forest lake, lighting up the clouds and reflecting in the calm water between dark pines and golden grasses. Worked in 43 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a fiery sunset over the lake was said to burn away the day's troubles, leaving only calm. Stitchers say this one leaves nothing but peace.

Why this kit: if you love dramatic skies, this blazing lake sunset is bold and rewarding to stitch. A lovely gift for nature lovers, and part of RTO's Colour of the Sun series.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 43 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the brightest orange sky and its reflection, then the darker clouds. Finish with the pines and golden grasses.

Finished size: 15.5×15.5 cm (6.1×6.1 in). A blazing sunset picture to frame and a memorable handmade gift.
