Stitch When You Are by My Side, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a grandmother in a purple knitted shawl and her granddaughter hug on a garden bench, surrounded by bright wildflowers and butterflies. Worked in 46 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: a butterfly landing near a grandmother and child was said to carry the family's love to the next generation. Stitchers say this bench holds a lifetime of stories.

Why this kit: if you love heartfelt family designs, this grandma and granddaughter picture is tender and a joy to stitch. A perfect gift for a grandmother, and a pair with RTO's mother and daughter design.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 46 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the two figures and the purple shawl, then the bench. Finish with the bright flowers and butterflies.

Finished size: 22.5×22 cm (8.86×8.66 in). A heartfelt family picture to frame and a treasured gift for Grandma.
