Stitch When Night Falls, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a cheerful elderly couple in nightcaps and cosy nightclothes ride a bicycle together through lavender grass under a starry sky and a crescent moon, its headlamp shining the way. Worked in 23 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: couples who still go on adventures together were said to stay young at heart for ever. Stitchers say these two are proof.

Why this kit: if you love funny, heart-warming designs, this night-time bike ride is full of joy and character. A perfect anniversary gift for grandparents or a long-married couple.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 23 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the couple's faces and nightcaps, then the bicycle. Finish with the lavender grass, the moon and the stars.

Finished size: 18.5×25.5 cm (7.28×10.04 in). A joyful night picture to frame and a heart-warming anniversary gift.
