Stitch Alone with the Dawn, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a lone fisherman sits in a small boat on a perfectly still lake, silhouetted against a glowing pink, gold and violet sunrise that is mirrored in the water. Worked in 36 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: fishermen said the first catch at dawn was a gift from the lake, and it always brought luck for the day. Stitchers say this is the most peaceful moment of all.

Why this kit: if you love calm, atmospheric scenes, this dawn lake is soothing and a joy to stitch. A lovely gift for anglers and anyone who loves early mornings.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 36 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the glowing horizon, then the pink and violet sky. Finish with the boat, the fisherman and the mirrored water.

Finished size: 12.5×20.5 cm (4.92×8.07 in). A peaceful dawn picture to frame and a lovely gift for anglers.
