Stitch Red Sun, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — three flamingo silhouettes with long curved necks stand in the reeds against a huge red-orange sun and a deep night-blue background. Worked in just 9 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: flamingos standing together at sunset were said to be keeping watch over the lake until morning. Stitchers say these three never leave their post.

Why this kit: if you love bold, graphic designs, this red sun is striking and quick to stitch with only 9 colours. A great gift, and a pair with RTO's Full Moon.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 9 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red-orange sun, then the dark flamingo silhouettes. Finish with the reeds and the deep blue background.

Finished size: 12.5×15.5 cm (4.92×6.1 in). A bold graphic picture to frame and a quick handmade gift.
