Stitch When the Sun Sets on the Wave, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a seagull glides low over rolling sea waves as the sun sinks into the water, turning the whole sky and sea a glowing orange. Worked in 33 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: sailors believed a seagull flying towards the setting sun carried their thoughts home to their families. Stitchers say this one flies straight home.

Why this kit: if you love the sea and warm colour, this sunset seascape is glowing and relaxing to stitch. A lovely gift for sailors and beach lovers.

Kit includes: 14-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 33 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the setting sun and its golden reflection, then the waves and white foam. Finish with the seagull and the orange sky.

Finished size: 16×23.5 cm (6.3×9.25 in). A glowing seascape to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
