Stitch Palette of Emotions, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — soft pink tulips with long green leaves rise against patches of pink, mint and red, painted in gentle impressionist strokes. Worked in 27 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 14-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: pink tulips were given to say "I care for you", and a bunch of them was said to bring happiness to the whole house. Stitchers say these say it beautifully.

Why this kit: if you love soft, painterly florals, these pink tulips are quick and joyful to stitch. A lovely spring or Mother's Day gift, and part of RTO's Palette of Emotions series.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 27 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the pink tulip heads, working from dark to light. Finish with the green leaves and the soft colourful background.

Finished size: 11.5×17 cm (4.53×6.69 in). A fresh little spring picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
