Stitch Lighthouse and Pelican, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a red and white striped lighthouse stands on a rocky islet, with a pelican perched on a wooden post beside it and seagulls circling overhead. Worked in 43 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.
A little stitcher's folklore: sailors believed a pelican near the lighthouse meant calm seas and a safe return. Stitchers say this one keeps watch with the lamp.
Why this kit: if you love the sea and nautical decor, this detailed lighthouse is a rewarding, cheerful stitch. A lovely gift for sailors, beach homes and seaside lovers.
Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 43 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.
Start with the red and white stripes of the lighthouse, then the pelican. Finish with the rocks, the wooden posts and the gulls.
Finished size: 17×25 cm (6.69×9.84 in). A cheerful seaside picture to frame and a lovely gift for sea lovers.
