Stitch The Roofs, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a three-panel view over an old European town, full of red-brown tiled roofs, chimneys, gables and a pale church tower, in warm terracotta, ochre and green. Worked in 43 colours of DMC stranded cotton on ecru Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: chimney sweeps and rooftops have long been lucky — touching a sweep or seeing smoke rise straight from a chimney promised good weather and good fortune. Stitchers say every roof here shelters a happy home.

Kit includes: 14-count ecru Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 43 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Stitch one panel at a time, starting with the dark lines of the roofs and windows, then fill the tiles and walls. Finishing panel by panel keeps the large design manageable.

Finished size: 35.5×25.5 cm (13.98×10.04 in). A three-panel cityscape to frame and a memorable gift for travellers.
