Stitch Friendship, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO, designed by Amanda Clark — a big blue heart filled with a moonlit night: a badger looks up at a small white bird flying past a full moon, framed by pale winter trees and little flowers. Worked in 20 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the badger was seen as a steady, loyal creature that guards its home, and a bird crossing the moon was said to carry a wish to someone far away. Stitchers say this heart carries a message between true friends.

Why this kit: if you love woodland animals and gentle, storybook designs, this blue heart is a heartfelt piece to make for someone special. A lovely friendship or thank-you gift.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 20 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the badger and the moon, then fill the heart with its shades of blue. Finish with the white trees and the leafy border around the edge.

Finished size: 21×21 cm (8.27×8.27 in). A heartfelt woodland picture to frame and a thoughtful gift for a friend.

    I think I said I purchased 4 designs, however, I think it is 5 kits. They arrived quickly and are beautiful kits that I am actually stitching for myself. I have always made prices that I have given as gifts snd have not kept for myself over the past 40 years. So I am looking forward to stitching these for our house!
