Stitch Forest Laces, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a lace-like forest in white and silver on black fabric, where a deer, a hare, a squirrel and a hedgehog hide among delicate, patterned trees. With just 5 colours of DMC stranded cotton on black Aida, it looks like fine paper-cut art.

A little stitcher's folklore: in old tales the forest was full of quiet guardians, and spotting a deer was a sign of gentleness and good fortune on your path. Stitchers say every animal hidden here brings its own little blessing.

Kit includes: 14-count black Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 5 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the animals, then work outward through the trees and lacy patterns. Using so few colours means little thread changing — just steady, meditative stitching on the black fabric.

Finished size: 21.5×32.5 cm (8.46×12.8 in). An elegant woodland picture to frame and a stylish handmade gift.
