Stitch I Love You Anyway!, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a spotted brown and white spaniel puppy trots along proudly with a chewed-up striped toy in its mouth, painted in loose, playful watercolour. Worked in 30 colours of DMC stranded cotton.

A little stitcher's folklore: dog owners say a puppy that brings you its favourite toy is giving you its whole heart — even if the toy is in pieces. Stitchers say this one is forgiven every time.

Why this kit: if you love dogs, this funny, heart-warming scene is a joy to stitch and makes everyone smile. A perfect gift for spaniel owners and anyone with a mischievous puppy.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 30 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the puppy's eyes, nose and dark patches, then fill the white fur. Add the striped toy and the soft watercolour shadows last.

Finished size: 25×21 cm (9.84×8.27 in). A heart-warming dog picture to frame and a fun gift for dog lovers.
