Stitch Autumn Dream, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a fluffy orange fox dozes peacefully on a grey tree branch, its paw and bushy tail hanging over the side, with a couple of yellow autumn leaves drifting below. Worked in 13 colours of DMC stranded cotton on beige Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the fox is a clever guardian of the woods, and a fox seen sleeping was said to mean a peaceful season ahead. Stitchers say this one is dreaming of a cosy autumn.

Why this kit: if you love foxes and cosy autumn decor, this sleepy fox is a sweet, quick stitch — and with 13 colours on beige fabric it's easy to follow. A lovely gift for fox lovers and nature fans.

Kit includes: 16-count beige Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 13 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the fox's closed eyes and nose, then fill the orange fur and the white chest. Finish with the grey branch and the falling leaves.

Finished size: 16.5×16.5 cm (6.5×6.5 in). A cosy autumn picture to frame and a sweet handmade gift.
