Stitch Fairy Tales Live on the Roofs, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a girl in a blue striped dress walks along the rooftops of a whimsical storybook town, with pointed towers, patterned roofs, round windows and a white bird flying beside her under a sky of soft clouds. Worked in 22 colours of DMC stranded cotton on grey Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: old tales say that dreams live on the rooftops, where children walk in their sleep and birds carry their wishes into the sky. Stitchers say this girl is on her way to make one come true.

Why this kit: if you love fairy tales and dreamy, illustrated designs, this rooftop walk is magical and full of fun architectural detail. A beautiful gift for a daughter or anyone who's a dreamer.

Kit includes: 14-count grey Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 22 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the girl and the white bird, then outline the towers and roofs. Fill the patterned roof tiles house by house — the grey fabric does much of the sky.

Finished size: 24×24 cm (9.45×9.45 in). A magical storybook picture to frame and a memorable handmade gift.
