Stitch Among Black Cats, a small counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a black cat peeks out from under a crumpled blanket, only its round eyes, ears and long whiskers showing. With just 4 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida, it's simple, witty and quick.

A little stitcher's folklore: in many countries a black cat is a sign of good luck, and a cat hiding under the covers was said to be keeping the house warm for the family. Stitchers say this one is guarding the best spot in the bed.

Why this kit: if you love black cats, this tiny, funny design is a perfect quick stitch or first kit. A great little gift for cat owners — and part of RTO's Among Black Cats series.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 4 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the eyes, then fill the black face and ears. Add the whiskers and the sketchy blanket lines last.

Finished size: 13.5×8 cm (5.31×3.15 in). A small, witty cat picture for a mini frame and a fun gift for cat lovers.
