Stitch Late Harvest Poppies, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a golden field stretches toward a white farmhouse and trees under a lilac evening sky, with red poppies, blue cornflowers and long blue-green grasses swaying in the foreground. Worked in 44 colours of DMC stranded cotton.

A little stitcher's folklore: poppies growing in the corn were a sign of a good harvest, and farmers left the last sheaf in the field for luck. Stitchers say this meadow promises a full, happy year.

Why this kit: if you love countryside landscapes, this painterly meadow is rich in colour and texture and a joy to stitch. A lovely gift for gardeners and country lovers.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 44 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the farmhouse and trees on the horizon, then the golden field. Finish with the poppies, cornflowers and long grasses in the foreground, which bring the scene to life.

Finished size: 25×25 cm (9.84×9.84 in). A glowing countryside picture to frame and a beautiful handmade gift.
