Stitch Stormy Sea, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a white lighthouse and little whitewashed houses stand on a green headland above rolling grey-green waves, with tall grasses bending in the wind and seabirds overhead. Worked in 35 colours of DMC stranded cotton on grey Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: sailors said that when the wind blows hardest, the lighthouse shines brightest, guiding every boat safely home. Stitchers say this one keeps the light on through any storm.

Why this kit: if you love dramatic coastal scenes, this windswept landscape is atmospheric and full of movement. A great gift for sailors, seaside lovers and lighthouse collectors.

Kit includes: 14-count grey Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 35 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the lighthouse and houses, then the green headland. Finish with the waves and the long wind-blown grasses in the foreground.

Finished size: 25×25 cm (9.84×9.84 in). A windswept coastal picture to frame and a memorable gift for sea lovers.
