Stitch Cow Berry, a cross stitch kit with a printed background by RTO from the Samples from the Lab series — a curious brown and white cow looks back over its shoulder, its body a giant, juicy red strawberry, over a printed laboratory-notebook sketch. You stitch the cow in 27 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Linda evenweave.

A little stitcher's folklore: a cow in the strawberry patch was said to mean a summer of plenty, with cream for every bowl of berries. Stitchers say this one is the sweetest cow in the field.

Why this kit: if you love funny, imaginative designs, this strawberry cow is a real conversation piece and the printed background means less stitching. A fun kitchen picture and a great gift for cow lovers.

Kit includes: white Zweigart Linda evenweave (100% cotton) with a sketch-style background printed on it, DMC stranded cotton in 27 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the cow's face and eyes, then the red strawberry body with its seeds. Finish with the green leaves; the printed notebook sketch stays as it is.

Finished size: 21.5×30 cm (8.46×11.81 in). A witty kitchen picture to frame and a fun handmade gift.
