Stitch Magnolia Flowers, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a slender, curving magnolia branch with two pink blooms opening at the top and closed buds hanging below. Worked in 29 colours of DMC stranded cotton on grey-beige Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: magnolias bloom before their leaves appear, so they've long been a sign of hope and new beginnings. Stitchers say this branch brings a fresh start with every bud.

Why this kit: if you love delicate botanicals, this small magnolia is quick and calming to stitch. A lovely spring gift and a natural set with RTO's other magnolia designs.

Kit includes: 14-count grey-beige Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 29 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the open blooms, then the closed buds. Finish with the thin, twisting branch.

Finished size: 15.5×14.5 cm (6.1×5.71 in). A delicate floral picture to frame and a thoughtful handmade gift.
