Stitch Dragonfly, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a red dragonfly with long, lacy wings rests on a slender grass stem, with a few tiny midges drifting nearby. Worked in 17 colours of DMC stranded cotton on grey Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: the dragonfly is a symbol of change and lightness, and a dragonfly landing near you was said to bring good luck and a change for the better. Stitchers say this one brings a light heart.

Why this kit: if you love insects and nature studies, this red dragonfly is elegant and quick to stitch. A lovely gift for gardeners and pond lovers, and a set with RTO's other insect designs.

Kit includes: 14-count grey Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 17 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the red body and the head, then outline the delicate wings. Finish with the grass stem and the little midges.

Finished size: 19.5×13.5 cm (7.68×5.31 in). An elegant nature picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
