Stitch With the Flavour of Salt, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a woman in a wide sun hat sits on a dark rock, shading her eyes as she gazes out over a sparkling blue sea turned golden by the sun. Worked in 40 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: sitting by the sea at sunset was said to wash away your worries with every wave. Stitchers say this woman has left all hers on the shore.

Why this kit: if you love the seaside and dreamy summer scenes, this sunlit picture is calm and rewarding to stitch. A lovely gift for beach lovers and anyone longing for a holiday.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 40 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the woman and her hat, then the dark rock. Finish with the sparkling sea and golden light, blending the blues and yellows.

Finished size: 17.5×24 cm (6.89×9.45 in). A sunny seaside picture to frame and a relaxing handmade gift.
