Stitch Snow Goose, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a white goose with bright orange feet and beak runs through frosty grass with its wings spread wide, set against a soft, icy-blue winter sky. Worked in 33 colours of DMC stranded cotton on white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: geese flying overhead in winter were said to bring snow, and a goose in the yard kept the whole house safe. Stitchers say this one is racing to bring good news.

Why this kit: if you love birds and wintry scenes, this lively goose is fresh, light and full of movement. A lovely gift for bird lovers, and it looks just as good made up as a cushion.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 33 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the orange beak, eye and feet, then build up the white and pale blue feathers. Finish with the frosty grass and sky.

Finished size: 37×24 cm (14.57×9.45 in). A fresh winter bird picture to frame and a lovely handmade gift.
