Stitch Where the Fireweed Blooms, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — bright pink fireweed and tall grasses crowd the foreground of a hillside overlooking a winding lake and soft blue hills in the golden evening light. Worked in 47 colours of DMC stranded cotton.

A little stitcher's folklore: fireweed is the flower of new beginnings, blooming first where the land has been renewed. Stitchers say this view is a reminder that summer always comes back.

Why this kit: if you love wide, sunny landscapes, this lakeside view is full of colour and a joy to stitch. A lovely gift for travellers, hikers and nature lovers.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 47 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the distant hills and lake, then the pink fireweed in the foreground. Finish with the grasses and highlights.

Finished size: 27×19.5 cm (10.63×7.68 in). A sunny landscape picture to frame and a memorable handmade gift.
