Stitch Morning Light, a counted cross stitch kit by RTO — a woman rows a wooden boat across a still, misty lake at sunrise, gliding through the reeds as golden light rises behind the far shore. Worked in 28 colours of DMC stranded cotton on 16-count white Aida.

A little stitcher's folklore: going out on the water at first light was said to wash away yesterday's troubles and start the day afresh. Stitchers say this is the calmest way to begin.

Why this kit: if you love peaceful, atmospheric landscapes, this misty morning scene is soothing to look at and to stitch. A lovely gift for nature lovers and anyone who needs a calm moment.

Kit includes: 16-count white Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), DMC stranded cotton in 28 colours, a needle, a colour symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Start with the woman and the wooden boat, then the reeds. Finish with the soft golden sky and its reflection in the water.

Finished size: 22.5×23 cm (8.86×9.06 in). A peaceful morning picture to frame and a calming handmade gift.
